Singing on the River

I do so love this lots of light. It is so magically though they can keep the dark. I love the cold and winter but the dark is very hard to beat. Because this is so we are snapping up tickets and events that gets us out in the festival feeling of the season. On the weekend we went to a lovely local fete, so much fun. We got little sticky glasses, six for fifty pence. Ben got two books, a keyboard, a computer card and two plants for the grand total of six pounds. As a result we can watch tv on our laptops like we have a sky box. It will record, pause etc all the regular tv, Timothy is thrilled as we were missing Thomas the tank in the morning as we were preferring sleep over a ten minute show but now it is awaiting us on awaking.

But the highlight of our events has to be King's college choir singing from punts on the Cam on Sunday night. It was so beautiful and that was lucky as it had been blowing a gale all day.

In the second picture here, you will notice the sign I am standing in front of. This is a very special event as normally only the masters are allow to even touch the grass, let a lone walking it and here they have let all the pleb's picnic on it for this grand event. The songs sung were a mix of class and modern. We had Contrapunto Destiale Alle Mente - Banchieri, to When Jonny comes marching home - Noble, also the likes of Let's do it - Roberts.

The light in this place is very lovely at this time of year. It has a really soft quality to it though not as special as Scotland, its like liquid gold up there.

Here are a few pics of Timothy and I playing with the camera. The boy likes anything that has an action so of course the pop up flash was the highlight for him. Though he laughed every time the crowd clapped, he would clap along thinking it was a lovely game. Unless he though they were all applauding him, wouldn't put it pass him, he thinks his clever, and you know so do I :P

Just lovely

We also had some locals drop in though mummy duck wasn't to pleased to find she could not get down to the water. She flew and the ducklings, though rather big ducklings now didn't follow and so she called frantically from the water. This was not greeted with joy from those sitting near but they only had themselves to blame considering they kept feeding the critters so they wouldn't go away. Timothy thought they had arrived just for his entertainments so he couldn't be happier.
