Timothy James

The Christening of said cute thing was held in our local village church, St Andrews. Sunday 18th November at 10.30 the little guy got his head moistened and lay claim to Daniel, John and Rhonda as God Parents. It was a lovely service and then we had a cool, even cold as it was a few degrees on Sunday morning tea. We had Timothy's GG there and friends from work and the village.

Harvest Festival

Its a wonderful of year here. The leaves are turning, the days grow shorter and of course the cold winds arrive. I love the cold even after experiencing a winter here. I think it has lead me to romanticising it even more than before. The folks around these parts like to get together and thank all that is good for all that they have received and I must say we got our fair share of goodies this year. We had potatos, carrots, onions, capsicums, tomatos, blue berries and stacks of salads stuff and that was just for the garden. Of course our big haul is getting Timothy, who is the sweetest, cutest and smartest baby ever (of course). So join these pics from our local church of all the harvest goodies, (food and flowers etc). And remember to thank God, the Universe or whatever is your think for something special you have got in the last year. Much better than coming up with new years resolutions is my thinking.

Sticky Tape

We haven't put up any entries recently about adventuring type stuff, because, well, we haven't had any.

The boy is currently going through an awful patch of crappy sleeping, so we have been spending our free time trying desperately to get some (any!) sleep and generally trying to cope.

Timbo doesn't seem to care much though, oblivious to the havok he creates, and continues to enjoy himself and be a very awake, happy and active little lad. We discovered this morning that (for some reason) he finds the sound of peeling sticky tape really funny. Have a look for yourself:

Memory of a wonderful man

Today I found out that I lost my wonderful uncle Stan to the fight of lung cancer. Stan was a lovely husband, wonderful father and a great uncle. He was so full of life and love. Very generous of spirit and soul, we will miss him so much and I am very sorry I did not get to see him before he went. Ben, Timothy and I would like to send out love and prayers to his family, especially Loie, though I can't begin to imagine the sorrow she feels now, we hope the family rallies around you all.



I will always remember the wonderful Christmas summer holidays spent with Uncle Stan, Auntie Loie and cousins Erik and Jemma. They were wonderful times filled with great stories and lots of love and laughter. I will always remember Stan when I think of Currumbin beach and bbq's. I know he will be in a lovely place now though I pray that the angels will send strength and courage to those left behind.

In the last week or so young Timbo has started sitting up unsupported. He also now gets pretty cranky when he isn't.

Though as you can see, he's still abit wobbly.

Another Duxford Air Show

The weekend before last we wrapped up the boy and headed out to the Imperial War Museum at Duxford for the September Air Show. We went to one of these around the same time last year, and had a great time (see the earlier entry and the photos).

Most 'planes aren't quiet. Luckily we had a solution that seemed to keep the boy happy, if funny looking.



The real attractor this year was an appearance by the Red Arrows, which was so good I used up an entire 2GB memory card on their 23 minute display. Plenty of skill on display here!

Good form

Chelsea pictued here looking very cool in the new dance studio. We also wish her luck with her exams that are approaching fast. Not that she looks like she needs any.

Short Glen Coe video

Now this is an amazingly beautiful place, well worth the drive too. Some would argue in fact that the trip is the drive, so much to see. On the day we putted up there was a pipper doing his thing, and it was suitable windswept and interesting for the Scottish highlands.

Bustling around Bruges

Our next adventure afforded young Timothy a cute new stamp in his new wee passport. We were off to Beligum, Bruges where chocci and beer frolic and play. We were to discover the wonders of both plus diamonds and lace. It was an amazing place, the first day there we came across these two ladies singing opera in the square.


We arrived by train which is a much more agreeable form of travel for the boy, he can have lots of cuddles and snacks. (just what he loves) We had three days here and wnet out both nights where there was beer, dessert and much merriant. We had huge kwaks. I could only sip at mine since I am still feeding the boy. Mum fininshed almost all hers and Ben had to finish everybody elses so he was very pleased with himself. For dinner I had mussles of course, so fresh and so was the beer, no comparised can be done! Ben tried flemish rabbit and mum had fish. The dessert was even better but I will let the pic speak for me.



Here we are watching diamonds betwwening polished, he was a very funnny fellow, lots of jokes. We learnt about different qualities of diamonds, size, cut and finishings. All very interesting though of course the history and some of the present don't have a very nice background, with slave mines etc.



Lets not forget the super tasty lolly shops... and of course the chocolate making which we watched at the chocolate musuem.


Here I am enjoying a fresh waffle with icecream and chocolate sauce, are you not very jealous :p




We went on a lovely boat ride around the cannals of the city. It was very beautiful and guide was amazing, he delievered the talk in no less then four languages!



We discovered more wonderful hand made toys of which we got Timothy a dragon that he can pull along with a string, very cute. We also discovered this wonderful Christmas shop, I of course went mad in.


So after buying lots of decoration, choccies and Christmas gifts at the markets we set about going home again. All fun was had and we are encourage by how good Timothy was that we will definitely be back on the trains to somewhere soon. Mind you, you couldn't get a better baby than our lovely little man. bye for now........
